Cedrus atlantica

Obtained primarily by steam distillation of the wood, it is highly valued in aromatherapy and herbal medicine for its regulating, calming, and decongestant properties. It is a warm, woody oil widely used in emotional therapies as well as in skin and hair care. Atlas cedar is a precious and revered wood; it is mentioned in the Bible, where it is associated with the construction of King Solomon’s temple. It was once used in the manufacture of sarcophagi and embalming, in rituals, and for perfumes.

Uses and Precautions	For skin use (always diluted)<br>· Cellulite and fluid retention: dilute 2 drops cedarwood essential oil + 2 drops lemongrass essential oil + 2 drops grapefruit essential oil in 10 ml of vegetable oil (hazelnut, jojoba, or calophyllum). Massage 1–2 times a day on affected areas. · Oily hair / hair loss / dandruff: add 2–3 drops per shampoo dose. Can also be blended with castor oil and applied as a hair mask (30 minutes before washing). · Acne / oily skin: 1 drop in 10 ml of aloe vera gel or vegetable oil. Apply at night. For diffusion · Stress, anxiety, insomnia due to insecurity: 3–5 drops in a diffuser; ideal when blended with lavender, sweet orange, or frankincense. · Meditation or deep concentration: Cedarwood + Frankincense + Myrrh in equal parts. Diffuse for 15–20 minutes.<br>For inhalation · Anxiety episodes or feeling of emptiness: 1 drop on the hands or a handkerchief. Inhale deeply several times.<br>For oral use (professional supervision required) · Not recommended except under qualified professional supervision.
