Cistus ladanifer

This hydrolate is obtained by steam-distilling the leaves and stems of this plant. Cistus, or rockrose, is able to grow in poor soil and withstand fires, sprouting vigorously afterward, which gives it a symbolic meaning of regeneration. In folk tradition, it was said that rubbing oneself with cistus hydrolate would “close” the skin against wounds and ailments. Cistus hydrolate is a relatively recent addition to natural cosmetics, as traditionally the essential oil or resin was used; its aqueous version has gained popularity for being milder and more versatile.

USES AND PRECAUTIONS	For external use (cosmetic and therapeutic)<br>· Regenerative facial toner: spray directly onto clean skin (2–3 sprays) or apply with a soaked cotton pad. Use morning and night. · Healing or hemostatic compresses: soak a sterile gauze pad with pure hydrolate and apply to the clean area. Leave on for 5–10 minutes, 1–2 times a day until improvement. · In case of superficial bleeding: apply gentle pressure until the bleeding stops. · Spray for use after shaving or hair removal: spray 2–3 times on the affected area immediately after shaving or waxing. Repeat if irritation occurs. · Regenerating body baths: add 20–30 ml of hydrolate to your bathwater. Soak in the bath for 15–20 minutes.<br>For internal use (only food-grade hydrolate, pure and without preservatives)<br>· Not recommended for regular use; only use certified food grade products, under professional guidance.<br>· Suitable for use on babies and children.<br>· Safe for external use; 100% pure and preservative-free.<br>· For irritations or minor wounds: apply with a soft gauze pad 1–2 times a day.<br>· Avoid direct contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
