Cupressus sempervirens

It is widely used in aromatherapy and phytotherapy for its circulatory, respiratory, and emotional properties. It is obtained by steam distillation of the stems and leaves. Combined with mint or lemon essential oil, it enhances its circulatory action; blended with lavender or sweet orange, it increases its relaxing effect. From Ancient Egypt to the present day, it has been considered a symbol of eternal life. It has long been used in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda.

Physically

· Venous and lymphatic tonic: useful for varicose veins, hemorrhoids, heavy legs, and edema.
· Antitussive and expectorant: ideal for dry, spasmodic, or chronic cough.
· Respiratory antiseptic: useful for mild colds and nasal congestion.
· Sweat regulator: useful for hyperhidrosis and night sweats.
· Astringent and mild skin antiseptic: regulates sweating and sebum production.
· Mild antispasmodic: helps calm respiratory spasms (nervous cough and mild bronchitis).

Apply to heavy legs, swollen ankles, or areas with cellulite, 1–2 times per day. Massage legs from bottom to top. · Excessive sweating (armpits, feet): 2 drops in 10 ml of witch hazel hydrolate or distilled water. Spray on clean area. · Heavy or painful menstruation: 2 drops of cypress essential oil in 10 ml of vegetable oil + sage or lavender. Apply to the lower abdomen. For diffusion <br>· For emotional balance and air purification: 3–5 drops in an ultrasonic diffuser, 20–30 minutes. Useful for relaxation, meditation, or charged atmosphere.<br>For inhalation <br>· Not common, but it can be used in handkerchiefs to freshen the environment or as a "mini repellent”.<br>For oral use (professional supervision required) · Can be used in antifungal or digestive formulas only under professional supervision. · Example: 1 drop in a teaspoon of olive oil or honey, once a day for a maximum of 5 days.
