Thymus vulgaris

The Thyme chemotype linalool essential oil (Thymus zygis) is one of the mildest, safest, and best-tolerated varieties of thyme essential oils. Unlike other, more aggressive chemotypes (such as thymol or carvacrol), linalool is less irritating and more suitable for children, the elderly, and sensitive people, especially when used properly diluted; as it has excellent tolerance. It is obtained by steam distillation of the flowering tops of the plant. Thyme was highly valued by the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, who used it both in rituals and in medicine. Its name comes from the Greek word “thymos,” meaning courage, strength, and vital energy. Roman soldiers bathed in thyme infusions to boost their courage before battles.

Uses and Precautions	For skin use (Highly recommended)<br>· Respiratory infections (bronchitis, cold): 2 drops of essential oil + 10 drops of vegetable oil (hazelnut or almond oil), apply to chest, back, or soles of feet 2 times a day. · Candidiasis or skin mycosis: 1 drop of essential oil + 4 drops of vegetable oil, apply to affected area 2 times a day. · Mild muscle pain or inflammation: 3 drops in 10 ml of vegetable oil, massage into the affected area. For diffusion <br>· Immune support / viral prevention: Add 4–6 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser and use for 15–30 minutes, 1–2 times a day. · Can be blended with ravintsara, eucalyptus radiata, or lemon. For inhalation<br>· For nasal congestion or sinusitis: Add 2 drops to a bowl of hot water and inhale deeply for 5 minutes. For oral use (professional supervision required)<br>· Urinary, intestinal, or immune infection: 1 drop in a neutral tablet or in honey, once a day for 5–7 days.
